If you are someone who loves taking photos in fields of flowers, you should visit Yangju Nari Park (양주나리공원) when the globe amaranth (천일홍) are in full bloom. This flower blooms from August to October and the flower fields are just stunning. There are a variety of flowers there, but the most notable are the globe amarath and the kochia, which is a green bush that turns bright red in the fall and is reminiscent of a scene from a Dr. Seuss book.
We went in September, and it was blazing hot. There was barely anyone at the park, which made for some nice photos, but we only spent about an hour there because it was hot and apparently I’m the only one who likes to visit flower fields in my family. There are a couple of small parks for kids.
Yangju Nari Park is about 1-1.5 hours from Seoul, and accessible by subway and bus.
